2017 NAMRC/MSEC International Manufacturing Research Conference
The Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC) hosted the 2017 International Manufacturing Research Conference June 4 – 8, 2017. The conference, organized by Professor Yong Chen of the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, brought together over 600 researchers in the fields of manufacturing and design.

CNSL 2017 Conference on Nonconvex Statistical Learning
Hosted by Prof Jong-Shi Pang, the CNSL conference brought researchers from all levels to advance the field of statistical learning and promoting collaboration.

2018 Decision Making in Large Systems Summer School
Funded by the National Science Foundation
Principal Investigator Ali Abbas hosted a six-day summer school in June 2018 that introduced graduate students to the foundations of decision making in large systems.

FACAM 2019 Foundations for Accuracy Control in Additive Manufacturing
Co-Organized by Prof. Qiang Huang and Prof N. Anwer at the ENS Paris-Sacaly, the FACAM 2019 workshop built upon the successes of prior workshops and brought together researchers and students in Paris. The 2019 workshop focused on the frontier of accuracy control in additive manufacturing, with emphasis on Machine Learning for Additive Manufacturing.
FACAM 2018 Foundations for Accuracy Control in Additive Manufacturing
Organized by Prof. Qiang Huang, the FACAM 2018 workshop built upon the success of the 2016 workshop, to discuss the research needed to establish theoretical foundations for accuracy control in additive manufacturing.
There were targeted research collaborations between USC and Purdue University, Rutgers University, Northwestern University, and Florida State University; and top international institutions: Politecnico di Milano, École Normale Supérieure (ENS) –Cachan, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
