Biography


Professor Huang's research has been focusing on engineering-informed machine learning and data analytics for advanced manufacturing systems, with special emphasis on Integrated Nanomanufacturing and Nanoinformatics (INN) and Machine Learning for Additive Manufacturing (ML4AM). His research has been supported by National Science Foundation (NSF) (including NSF CAREER award) and Office of Naval Research. He was the holder of Gordon S. Marshall Early Career Chair in Engineering at USC from 2012 to 2016. Prof. Huang received 2013 IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering Best Paper Award. He is Department Editor for IISE Transactions and Associate Editor for ASME Transactions, Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering. He also served an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering and for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters.
